About Highland Avenue SDA Church
In 1945, a small group of people were seeking to know more about God. They met together for worship at the home of Edward and Lillie Woods. One year later, the Main Street SDA Church, the first black Adventist church in Berrien County, was founded.
In September 1977, under the leadership of Robert Douglas, the members erected a new church building. The place of worship was renamed Highland Avenue SDA Church.
Through the years, the church has seen many changes but one thing remains constant; the God that they serve. The Highland Avenue church family comes together each week to encourage each other on the journey of faith and to serve their God.
